Embracing change

Change is scary sometimes, isn’t it? I’m a person that likes routine. I like being able to plan ahead and know where I’m going before I get there. Sometimes life won’t allow me to do that.

Releasing the Old, Making Way for the New

Are you clinging to something that is holding you back? Perhaps a fear, belief, anger, pain from your past? Release it!

In order to make room in our lives for new, better circumstances, we need to let go of the old ones that no longer serve us. It can be scary, and sad. But once we do it, such a feeling of freedom and joy takes over us! We truly feel lighter and unencumbered.

Always moving forward

Do you ever wish you could go back to an easier time in your life? A time when you had no responsibilities (or less anyway), a happier time, a less stressful time, a simpler time?

We can’t go back. Even if we could, we are no longer the same people we were when we were “back there.” We wouldn’t fit in that situation anymore. Even if we could squeeze in, we wouldn’t be happy because we’ve now outgrown that situation.

To act, or not to act?

Today my intention is to look before I leap. Sometimes we get a great idea and immediately lunge forward to put it into action before fully thinking it through.

On occasion that can pay off well, but other times we should really take a few minutes to breathe and contemplate before diving into action.

Finishing

Are you a starter or a finisher? For most of my life I’ve been a great starter, and not so much of a finisher! I love to start new projects. It’s so exhilarating to start something new, something exciting. But then it starts to become a chore, or I get stuck on one aspect, and little by little I lose interest. Or get frustrated and give up altogether. Then along comes another idea, and I’m off again!

Renewal

Today, I feel reborn. In the past few days I’ve had some pretty amazing insights about myself, mostly regarding fear and the ways I hold myself back. Fear is a sneaky thing! It makes you think you’re doing the right thing, when in fact you are harming yourself more than anything else.

Moving forward

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when we’ve got big dreams. We want them so badly, but yet, a tiny part of us is afraid to step forward and take the risk.
