Have you ever found yourself hanging in limbo, waiting for something you desperately want - no, NEED - to manifest, but it’s just not happening no matter what you do?
You visualize, you imagine, you affirm, you believe - and yet it’s still not coming. So you visualize a bit harder, more often, more intensely. You keep believing with all of your might that it’s coming soon. You start seeing “signs” and synchronicities everywhere you go - and you are SO SURE it’s getting ready to break through - but it STILL doesn’t happen!
Day after day you keep wondering if there’s something else you’re supposed to do to make it happen, some magical incantation you can recite to hurry things along. You wonder if you’re doing something to hold it back without meaning to, so you start analyzing your every move, every affirmation, every picture in your mind. But all of it seems to be in order. You can’t think of a single thing that you might be doing wrong.
This is a familiar situation to most conscious creators! In fact, you are probably nodding your head vigorously as you read this. Most of us have been there at least once or twice - some of us a lot more than that.
It’s a frustrating place to be, that’s for sure. But what is really happening when you find yourself stuck like that?
In my experience, it usually means that I’m trying to hurry things along. Either I really need what I’m trying to attract, or I’m depending on it to arrive by a certain time or I will face possible negative consequences. Not surprisingly, the longer it seems to take, the more frustrated I get. You can probably identify with that.
But if there is one thing I’ve learned along my journey in conscious creation, it’s that you can’t hurry manifestation. (Or love. LOL ) The very mind-set of “NEEDING” something to happen by a certain date will most certainly delay it. Need, desperation, frustration, exasperation, agitation, stress, disappointment - they are all SURE precursors to blockages.
When you find yourself in this type of situation, there is only ONE thing to do: LET GO.
Be okay with not getting what you want right away. Be okay with things staying as they are.
I know that’s easier said than done, but strangely there is also a certain sense of peace that comes along with giving up the fight. When you’ve been trying to FORCE something to happen quickly, you are expending a LOT of mental and emotional energy! As a result you end up feeling worn out and depleted.
On the other hand, surrendering to the universe’s higher wisdom and letting go inspires a sense of calm detachment and peace in the present moment. You realize that you’re still okay, even without this thing you want so desperately.
Letting go does not mean you won’t get what you want. It means you are choosing to know that you’re okay without it right NOW. It means that the arrival of it will be a great bonus, but your inner peace and well-being are not dependent upon it.
More often than not, we look to our outer circumstances to determine whether our intentions are working or not, but the outer clues don’t always tell the full story. What we can’t see is all of the energy and magnetism we’ve already built up in the invisible. We can’t see that our desire is getting ready to break through - and it WILL break through, unless we begin creating blockages that prevent it from doing so.
Yes, our very feelings of desperation and frustration are what create the blockages! The longer we stay in that frustrated mind-set, the longer we’re going to delay the arrival of what we want.
The next time you find yourself hanging in limbo between wanting something desperately and noticing you do not yet have it - STOP and LET GO. Just let go. Turn it over to the universe. Be okay with not having it. You can still visualize having it, you can still believe it’s coming. But DETACH from any need to have it RIGHT NOW.
In my experience, this is often the missing key needed to pull it into physical reality.
It boggles my mind that this knowledge has been around for so long - in fact, it goes much farther back than even these more “modern” writings. Isn’t it funny that we always think our generation is so advanced that we know it all? There’s a lot to learn from those who have come before us.
If you’re running short on reading material and want to discover (or rediscover) some true gems of wisdom, hop on over to my free Law of Attraction Ebooks page and explore to your heart’s content.
I still have a bunch more books that need to be added to the list, but there is quite a collection there already.
The longer you work with the Law of Attraction, the more trust and belief you’ll have that it really works without exception. But what if you’re still fairly new to it and you’re having trouble believing and trusting that it does work? Won’t that affect the level of results you experience because you’re doubting? Yes, absolutely!
When you doubt, you put out a limiting belief to the universe, which will affect the strength of your signal. Rather than saying, “YES, I want this and I know I can have it,” you’ll be saying, “I want this but…”
Note the tone of hesitation, and that’s exactly what the universe hears when you express doubt. Because the universe will only give you what is in accordance with your beliefs, you need to find a way to build up your trust and belief that the Law of Attraction really works, even if you haven’t yet seen it for yourself.
There are several ways to do this, but here are 3 easy ways to get started:
Use past evidence.
So, your current desires haven’t manifested yet, but can you think of other times in your life where you may have attracted something you wanted (even if you didn’t know how you did it)?
Did you want a specific job and you sent out tons of energy and intention for it, and sure enough, you got it? Or perhaps you kept fantasizing about meeting the man (or woman) of your dreams and saw them in such detail in your mind’s eye – and were shocked beyond belief when you met someone who looked just like them?
I’m sure you can come up with dozens of examples like these! If you can’t think of any positive examples, think about negative ones. Have you ever been afraid that something would happen, and sure enough it did? Have you ever dreaded something or held negative expectations about it and pulled it into your life? These things may not be fun to think about, but they do provide a modicum of proof that the Law of Attraction works and they can lay a foundation for trust and belief to form.
Choose to believe anyway.
Even if you can’t think of a single example to provide proof, you can choose to trust that it works anyway. When you think about it, trusting the universe is no different than choosing to trust another person. When you first decide to trust someone, you have no idea whether they are actually trustworthy or not. You simply decide to trust them until they give you a reason not to. Do the same thing with the Law of Attraction!
Keep affirming.
Finally, build up your level of trust by constantly affirming that it does work and you’ll be seeing proof of it any day now. The more you recite statements like this, the more your subconscious mind will begin to believe them. Over time, you’ll realize that you really DO trust the Law of Attraction and you don’t have a shred of doubt anymore.
I just wanted to share something neat with you - Ho’oponopono clearing jewelry!
I got an email the other day from Joe Vitale and he mentioned his assistant Suzanne Burns and her new jewelry creations that help “clean” even while you’re not consciously focused on saying the phrases. I was instantly interested because I know this kind of thing works very well.
Even long before I heard about the Law of Attraction, I knew it was possible to “charge” an object with energy and intention. For years I charged my rings and necklaces with energy for success and prosperity. And every time I did, cool things would happen. So I was intrigued by the idea of Ho’oponopono jewelry - the process alone has brought some impressive results into my life.
When I hopped over to Suzanne’s site, I loved it. Great energy and gorgeous jewelry! I ordered a ring straight away. I’ll let you know when it arrives.
But I thought I’d mention it now for any of you who may want a visual reminder to wear on your body - a way to keep cleaning even when you’re not saying, “I’m sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you . . .” She’s got other types of jewelry and products too, not just Ho’oponopono:
I’m still skimming back through my older manifestation journals, and I’m discovering some neat things I’d forgotten all about. Yesterday I found an entry about a big insight that I don’t think I’ve mentioned before, so I’d like to share it in case you might be doing the same thing and consequently blocking more abundance from flowing into your life.
One of the first things we learn about prosperity attraction is the importance of believing that we have more than enough money for everything we need. As we begin to truly believe this, more money flows into our lives. We might get a raise at work, or receive unexpected income from various sources. I’ve read a lot of cool stories about the creative ways the universe finds to deliver more abundance to people!
But did you know that it’s possible to hold such a belief and STILL struggle with money? That’s what I found myself doing several years ago. I wrote pages of notes in my journal trying to figure out how it was possible to see more money coming into my life in very obvious ways, yet still have trouble paying the bills each month!
I knew that the problem wasn’t with my mind-set. Each day I was focusing heavily on believing and knowing that I had plenty of money. And plenty of money flowed in each week. But by the end of the month, I struggled to have enough to pay the bills.
After about a week of pondering this mystery, in a huge flash of insight, I realized that my ACTIONS were not demonstrating a belief that I always had more than enough. Here’s what I caught myself doing:
Each month as bills came in, I didn’t pay them right away. I would set them aside because I wanted to be sure I had enough to cover the rent at the end of the month. And more often than not, by the end of the month I found that I didn’t have quite enough to cover everything.
Can anyone tell me why?
Two words: CONFLICTING SIGNALS!
All month long I was affirming to the universe that I always had more than enough money, but my ACTIONS were not reflecting that belief at all! Way in the back of my mind was a WORRY that I wouldn’t have enough to pay everything. So all month long, the universe kept hearing me say: “I always have more than enough money. But I might not have enough money to pay my bills.” AH HA!! Big light bulb moment there.
Once I realized I was doing that, I immediately changed my habits and started paying every bill when it came in. If I didn’t have the money to pay it immediately, I would take a red marker and write “PAID” on the front of the envelope and set it aside, affirming again that I always have enough money to pay my bills.
[One of my favorite affirmations was conceived during that time: "I always have more than enough money to pay my bills easily and on time."]
Before long I would receive the money to pay that bill, and the same thing happened week after week - and ironically, I was able to easily cover the rent too!
Once my ACTIONS were in line with my BELIEFS - I truly always had enough. (That’s a lesson I’ve had to learn a few times throughout my life actually - sometimes it’s easy to slip back into old habits if I’m not careful! )
So, if you find yourself in the same situation I was, if you’re visualizing and affirming until you’re blue in the face but STILL struggle with money, take a moment to consider what your ACTIONS might be conveying to the universe.
Are you afraid to spend money because you might not have enough? Are you afraid to give money because you might need it later for yourself? Do you hold back on buying things you need because you fear not having enough? (That’s another one I did for a long time. Even if I really needed something - like car repairs, clothing, groceries - I would still hold back on buying them until I made sure I had enough money for the bills at the end of the month. Not surprisingly, I usually didn’t have enough - for the bills OR the extra stuff!)
I eventually “got it” that the more I tried to hold my money back out of a fear of “not enough” the more I attracted the experience of not having enough! Once I started giving money and spending money fearlessly, I found myself ALWAYS having enough money to cover everything.
When I say “spending money fearlessly”, I don’t mean reckless spending. I don’t mean maxing out your credit cards or buying a bunch of stuff you don’t really need. But if you hold back on buying things you truly need because of a fear that you won’t have enough, you’re just sending a signal of lack to the universe.
Have faith in your heart and mind, and ACT with faith too. It’s a perfect recipe for Prosperity Pie! Who wants a slice?
Learning to use the Law of Attraction deliberately in your life can often be confusing and frustrating. You get the general idea of what you’re supposed to do: ask, believe, let go, receive. But it’s not always so clear when you’re constantly bumping up against lack and stressful situations that threaten your focus. It’s easy to keep slipping back into old thought patterns that keep you stuck.
A manifestation journal can be a powerful tool in your journey through conscious creation, providing the focus and insight to help you choose better thoughts, refine your approach and gradually raise your frequency to be in alignment with what you really want to attract into your life.
Keeping a manifestation journal is very easy - and a whole lot of fun! Here’s how to do it:
1) Cover the basics.
Choose the book you want to use as your journal. It can be a formal blank journal, an ordinary lined notebook, or even a document on your computer if you don’t like writing by hand. Once you have chosen your journal, start by covering the basic steps of deliberate attraction on the first page. List each step and a short description of how to do it. (Example: “Step 1: Ask - Get clear about what you really want. Step 2: Believe - Believe and know you deserve it and can have it… etc.) This page serves as a handy reminder for those times when you feel like you’re veering off-track.
2) Look into the past.
The next few pages in your journal should contain an overview of your past as far as the Law of Attraction is concerned. Have you ever attracted anything into your life even if you weren’t fully aware of how you did so at the time? What did you do or think that made the manifestation successful? Have you been trying to attract something specific more recently with little success? Why do you think that is? Are you struggling with certain steps of the attraction process while others come more easily to you? Can you see any areas that you need to focus better on? Write as much as you can about your success (or lack of) up to this point in time. This should paint a clear picture of where you stand as a conscious creator and provide insight about what you could be doing better to achieve more focused results.
3) Keep a daily record.
Now, make a list of the objects and/or experiences that you wish to attract into your life in the near future, and keep a daily record of your attempts to do so. Are you struggling to stay in a positive mind-set? Write it down. Do you keep vacillating on what you want? Write that down too. Record the things you are doing successfully and the things you’re struggling with.
Every few days, flip back through the previous pages of your journal and look for patterns that might be holding you back. Do you keep letting doubt intrude on your thoughts? Are you trying to control “how” everything happens? Make note of any insights you pick up while re-reading your journal and begin to alter your daily thoughts and actions to improve your results.
When you are successful in attracting something you want, record every tiny detail of exactly what you did, how you felt, what you focused on, how long the manifestation took, and so on. Over time you will have more and more of these successes to record, and you’ll have a clear blueprint to follow so you can do it again and again.
As simple as journaling may sound, it is incredibly powerful! As time goes on you’ll be able to see a clear progression of growth and mastery taking place before your eyes! You’ll be able to spot limiting patterns, old habits, negative expectations and more that may be hindering your progress and turn them around quickly. As a result, manifesting the things you want becomes a clearer, more focused process.
I’ve been keeping detailed journals for 15+ years now (the last decade focusing heavily on manifestation and various forms of “energy work”), and glancing back through them is always an eye-opening experience! I continue to be amazed by how much progress I’ve made, the things I’ve learned, and yes - the things I still struggle with, even after all this time! (Hey, no one is perfect, LOL)
I’ve learned a lot from other people, books, articles, audio and video productions - but none of it comes close to the great leaps of insight that come from putting the techniques into action in my own life and recording the results. If you haven’t done this for yourself yet, you really MUST try it. It will take your manifestations to a whole new level.
Wow, is there anything more empowering than clarity? This morning I woke up feeling so CLEAR about my current direction in life, both personally and professionally. I’ve spent the past few days doing a lot of quiet thinking. Or, I should say NOT thinking. I’ve been listening. Opening up to my inner guidance.
I seem to need to do that pretty often. When the hustle and bustle of daily living gets to be too much, when all the outer noise and chaos begins to drown out my own inner voice . . . I start feeling disconnected and scattered. For conscious creators, this is a bad thing. You can’t create from a place of confusion. Well, you can but your creations won’t be in alignment with what you really want. How many of us have been there, done that? *raising two hands here*
But there is a gift nestled in this jumbled mass of confusion . . . and that is the clarity that comes from quiet introspection.
Whenever I find myself feeling confused or scattered - or even stressed - I know it’s time to withdraw from the outer world for awhile and find my own inner voice again. The best way to do that is by sitting in silence and turning my attention inward.
Whenever I do that, I feel an instant “loosening” of the tension within me. Time seems to slow down. Breathing becomes easier. My thoughts become softer and my focus begins to clear. Before long, I feel reborn. Ready to begin moving forward again - without all the chaos and confusion. I can move forward with clarity and purpose, not to mention a much lighter heart and mind.
So, that is what I’m grateful for today, that loyal inner voice that is always eager to guide and encourage me. That little spark of divine wisdom never leaves me, even when I think I know better and refuse to listen.
Are you in need of some clarity right now? Are you feeling stressed, scattered, confused, frustrated? Take some time to turn your attention inward. Find a quiet place to be alone and just breathe. Let go of stress, let go of worry, let go of the need to control anything. Ask your inner self questions, if you like. Try these for starters:
Am I creating unnecessary turmoil in my life?
Why?
What do I really need right now?
What would make me feel more peaceful?
What is my most important focus right now?
What am I so afraid of?
How can I overcome this fear?
If my inner wisdom could tell me one thing right now, it would probably be: “________________”
Ask for guidance and that deeper, wiser part of you will answer.
Seemingly overnight, my surroundings have gone from boring brown to gorgeous GREEN! We’ve had some warm days along with heavy rain, and that has made all the vegetation spring to life. My husband even did the first lawn cutting of the season the other day.
Green leaves sprouting everywhere:
Our neighbor’s majestic maple tree:
The azalea my in-laws gave me (to be planted this weekend!):
The pretty pole I bought to hang my Mom’s petunias:
Even the lawn is looking much greener, finally. You can see in the bear photos I took on March 28 that everything was still very brown and dead-looking. Not anymore!
It may seem silly to be grateful for something so trivial, but Spring has always held great symbolic meaning for me.
It’s much more than the pretty colors and warmer weather - Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal. A time to shed old, limiting thoughts and emerge as a brand new, refreshed person after being cooped up all Winter long. It’s a time to set new goals, conceive new dreams and let your heart and mind soar.
Yesterday afternoon I wasn’t motivated to work so I grabbed a good book and sat on the deck for a few hours. I watched the chipmunks play, listened to the birds sing and let the warm breezes clear my head.
And the whole time, two simple words kept bubbling up from within me over and over again: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…
