Wow, is there anything more empowering than clarity? This morning I woke up feeling so CLEAR about my current direction in life, both personally and professionally. I’ve spent the past few days doing a lot of quiet thinking. Or, I should say NOT thinking. I’ve been listening. Opening up to my inner guidance.
I seem to need to do that pretty often.
When the hustle and bustle of daily living gets to be too much, when all the outer noise and chaos begins to drown out my own inner voice . . . I start feeling disconnected and scattered. For conscious creators, this is a bad thing. You can’t create from a place of confusion. Well, you can but your creations won’t be in alignment with what you really want. How many of us have been there, done that? *raising two hands here*
But there is a gift nestled in this jumbled mass of confusion . . . and that is the clarity that comes from quiet introspection.
Whenever I find myself feeling confused or scattered - or even stressed - I know it’s time to withdraw from the outer world for awhile and find my own inner voice again. The best way to do that is by sitting in silence and turning my attention inward.
Whenever I do that, I feel an instant “loosening” of the tension within me. Time seems to slow down. Breathing becomes easier. My thoughts become softer and my focus begins to clear. Before long, I feel reborn. Ready to begin moving forward again - without all the chaos and confusion. I can move forward with clarity and purpose, not to mention a much lighter heart and mind.
So, that is what I’m grateful for today, that loyal inner voice that is always eager to guide and encourage me. That little spark of divine wisdom never leaves me, even when I think I know better and refuse to listen.
Are you in need of some clarity right now? Are you feeling stressed, scattered, confused, frustrated? Take some time to turn your attention inward. Find a quiet place to be alone and just breathe. Let go of stress, let go of worry, let go of the need to control anything. Ask your inner self questions, if you like. Try these for starters:
Am I creating unnecessary turmoil in my life?
Why?
What do I really need right now?
What would make me feel more peaceful?
What is my most important focus right now?
What am I so afraid of?
How can I overcome this fear?
If my inner wisdom could tell me one thing right now, it would probably be: “________________”
Ask for guidance and that deeper, wiser part of you will answer.
