How I needed to be reminded of this today. Thank you for your posts. As any other worthy skill, the power of appreciation, of being able to recognize and focus on joy and the ability to apply our passions - I am reminded that these must be exercised daily to be kept strong and at my command. As is mentioned in some of your other wise posts, we are our own leader and main support - therefore we must exercise our own spiritual muscles and not expect the encouraging words of others to do it for us. Our support is the most important for ourselves and it is enough to succeed in whatever we aim for. Blessings to you!

Another technique I teach and practice involves staying in the present moment. So often we worry about how we will deal with what's coming next -- the bills that are due, for example --rather than recognizing that, in the present moment, all is well. It's in the present moment that the miracles occur, that, ultimately, we're always taken care of. More often than not, the next moment takes care of itself. As I wrote in a <a>recent post on my own blog""</a>: "Unless I'm present in the moment, I may not notice the miracle that is its fruit. If I'm locked in worry and anxiety about the future -- and even the moment after this one is part of that future -- I may not be available to the angel who delivers the miracle."

Thanks again for your thoughtful and thought-provoking posts.
