Dr. Dennis Waitley is one of the best motivators I know. I’ve been very privileged over the years to learn from several. In 1988 I heard him tell a unique story about the astronauts and the space program that correlated to statistics he had gathered from the U.S Olympic team in previous years. He said that in simulations, they were told to visualize their tasks as if they were actually performing, both groups showed physical responses that were quantifiable, as if they were actually performing the tasks. Can that information help you to create the body you really want?
Where would we be without the press? Would our lives be in any way diminished if they didn’t exist? Is being Pollyanna any kind of option for 21st century living? What is it that makes you feel bad when you read or hear about some terrible story in the press?
If you have been trying to use The Law of Attraction, but somehow, no matter how hard you try, it doesn’t seem to be working, maybe as Yoda says, “There is no try, there is only do.” We, one and all, have been in a situation where the harder we tried, the further from our goal we got.
Ability will never catch up with the demand for it. – Malcolm Forbes
Comedy clubs prosper all over the country but their profits soar during tough economic times. Norman Cousins wrote a book about how he overcame Cancer by watching movies that made him laugh. Gallows humor is legendary for dealing with awful situations and most of us can recall how we dealt with the horrific effects of 9/11 by daring to laugh again.
Maybe you’ve heard about using meditation as a means to reduce your stress. You want to give it a try, but it looks so difficult and overwhelming. Relax. Meditation is really only about focusing your mind, and there are lots of easy ways to perform this renewing form of contemplation.
By the side of the rock road, at the bottom of a grassy hill, stands a gnarled, lonely-looking tree. It is a Cottonwood; no doubt it was glorious in its prime. Glorious is not a good word to describe its state now. A better way to speak about this ancient tree is to say that it has weathered many of lifes storms. Some were weathered well. Others? Not so much.
