Do You Know The Rules That Are Limiting Your Abundance?

Who sets the standards for how you should feel? If someone is rude to you and cuts you off in traffic, are you allowed to still have a great day? If your significant other is unexpectedly laid off, can you continue to believe in the stability of your future finances? Or must you succumb to doubt and worry and allow a growing panic of impending doom to linger in your belly? The truth is you set the standard for how you should feel, and you choose the feelings that you have.

But these rules about when we can be happy and what we need in order to be happy are not rules of the universe. People who do not know any better program these rules into us, and these rules interfere with our happiness. We can, however, change these programmed rules. The first step is to recognize that these rules about happiness are not real rules. Then we can decide to be happy.

Because of our programming, our unconscious mind believes it’s important to protect us. Remember as a child being told that you must hold an adult’s hand when you crossed the street? That was an important rule for when you were little and could not protect yourself. As you grew up you became able to take care of yourself so you no longer had to hold onto an adult’s hand to cross the street. Imagine how limited your life would be if you still believed you needed an adult’s help to cross the street?

On your quest for abundance you will run into each and every one of your limiting beliefs in turn, and your job is to dismiss them all. No one but you has any say or a claim to your happiness, and you must tell your inner mind to let these limiting ideas go. How will you ever manifest your desires if you will not let go of your limiting beliefs? The answer is you won’t.

Energy techniques can help us change the programmed rules that limit our abundance and happiness.

Gratitude List

An easy and fun way to shift your energy out of limiting beliefs and into powerful positive manifestations is by writing gratitude lists. Remember, what you think about you bring about, and if you’re focused on the problems or potential pitfalls of a situation that’s all you’ll find. So instead of spending another moment bemoaning the deficiencies in your relationship (with a person, a great job, money, etc.) instead make a list of all the things that are going right, things that you are thankful for. Look around. Did your spouse take out the garbage last night? Be grateful and put it on the list. Did your teenager call when they said they would and come home on time? Put it on your list. By listing all the things in your life that are going right you automatically shift your energy to the positive. You’ll start to feel better and have a brighter outlook.

Emotional Freedom Technique

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a mode of energy which is based on acupuncture. Practitioners of Eastern medicine have used acupuncture for thousands of years to increase the flow of energy throughout the body. Our energy flows along pathways in the body called meridians. If a blockage occurs in one or more of our meridians our energy flow can become out of balance. This can manifest itself as illness or disease. We are naturally supposed to have a balance among health, well-being and happiness. EFT enables us to break away from the limitations of our previous programming and helps us return to our natural state of flow, joy and balance.

EFT chips away at the limiting beliefs and exposes the underlying abundance and joy. Underneath we find our true self, which is happy, joyful, healthy, and loving. Freed from limiting beliefs, our true self enjoys prosperity.

Gratitude lists and EFT are two ways of changing your energy to eliminate programmed limitations and attract abundance to your life.
