Goals & Dreams

Three Phases of Manifestation

WOW, what a whirlwind couple of weeks it’s been. I’ve never been busier – or flying as high as I am right now!

As I wrote yesterday, I released my “new baby” (ebook) and the response has been really wonderful. What I find most funny is that by the time I finished it, I didn’t even CARE what response it received – I was just overcome with the glow of achievement!

Giving Yourself Room to Grow

I’ve never been good at caring for plants. Either I’d forget to water them, water them too much, or put them in a spot where they couldn’t get adequate sunlight and they’d die. I’d pretty much given up on trying to turn my thumb green.

Several months ago I was browsing through my local home improvement store when I was instantly attracted to a “Lucky Bamboo” plant. It had 26 stalks of bamboo all twisted, tied and formed into a gorgeous spiral design.

The Nature of Beliefs and Reality

Face what you think you believe and you will be surprised. – William Hale White

You may be familiar with the concept that your beliefs create your reality, but have you explored this idea further?

What does it really mean that your beliefs create your reality?

A “belief” is a thought that has been repeated in your mind so many times that you know it to be “true.” Sometimes the things we believe really are true, but other times we have tricked ourselves into believing something is true, even if it isn’t. These illusory “truths” are reinforced because our actions day to day … read more

All Twisted Up: Losing Your Sense of Direction

A new (yet all-too-familiar) problem has reared its ugly head in my life: Not-enough-time-itis.

I’m one of those people that gets all fired up when I’m working on something I really love. That includes my site(s), blog(s), information products…not to mention my “regular work”.

One thing I keep learning the hard way: there must be balance. I cannot work 14 hours a day and still expect to have clear focus and abundant motivation. I cannot do everything at once, no matter how badly I might want to.

How Important Are Your Goals?

No matter what goals you are working toward in life, you must have a strong investment in achieving them. If your goals aren’t important to you and you’ve got nothing to lose by quitting, you probably won’t summon enough motivation to get it done.

Occasionally it is possible to push yourself to do something even if it’s not that important to you, but most often that’s because you’re trying to avoid a negative consequence, not because you feel inspired about taking action.

Spring Cleaning Your Life: Renewal & Rebirth

WELL, what a difference a few days can make! I’m feeling so much better than I have over the past couple of weeks. All the cleaning and organizing I did Friday and Saturday made a huge difference in my physical surroundings, and I took Sunday off to spend with my mom, mom-in-law, sister-in-law, and grandmother (all the great Moms in my life! ). It was so nice to just relax and enjoy a beautiful day. The menfolk were there too: hubby, my brother, my father-in-law and my grandfather. Oh, and my nephew and niece. We had quite a full … read more

A Contract With Yourself

I recently participated in a Writers’ Meme in which we had to draw up a contract with ourselves. The point was to get clear about what we want to accomplish with our writing, and make an agreement with ourselves to stay with that vision, whatever it takes. (Thanks to Diane and Carson for this awesome exercise!)

A day or two before I was tagged to participate in the meme, my thoughts were already moving in that direction and I scribbled out a rudimentary contract in my personal journal. It was important for me to do that because I felt like I … read more
