Feeling good and having fun! :-)

Monday, May 5th, 2008

It’s so important to take conscious control of your moods every day if you want to keep those good vibes flowing. I’ve noticed that it’s really easy to slip into a negative (or even neutral, ho-hum) state if I’m not paying attention, and things just don’t seem to “flow” as easily in that state. On the other hand, making an intention to feel good and have fun - BOOM! Good vibes and blessings abound.

This morning I stumbled across a great article that shares some tips on having fun and feeling good. Since it’s Monday, I figured you might need a little boost. ;-)

Feel Good, Have Fun - Enjoy the Journey!

By Kate Corbin

“And so we came forth, and once again beheld the stars.” - Dante Alighieri

Life Is Supposed to be Fun. Don’t you just sort of KNOW that life is supposed to be fun? Isn’t there a part of you deep inside that says - “Yeah, I know that’s true. That resonates with the core of my being.” When you recognize that life can be outrageously fun and that you can be audaciously happy, you begin to dismantle the contradictory beliefs that have been covering up this most precious knowing. Perhaps you remember knowing this as a kid, before they convinced you that life is hard and so very serious. You were right - and it’s now time to live what YOU know to be true: Life is supposed to be bubbles and sparkles and glitter and moonbeams!

Peter Pan Had it Right. Peter Pan refused to “grow up” in the sense of believing that life is hard and that you can’t have it your way and that you must constantly settle for less than you truly desire. The true act of growing up is to recognize that you CAN have everything you desire - that life is for playing and having thrilling adventures - knowing that not only can you have it your way but everyone else can have it their way too.

Feel Good. Have Fun. Enjoy The Journey. The best thing you can do for yourself and the best thing you can do for anyone you care about - in fact, the best thing you can do for our world - is to make feeling good, having fun, and enjoying the journey your number one priority. When you follow your bliss, you align with your True Self, you live YOUR life, and you savor the true joy of living. Try these things, guaranteed to raise your vibration:

Let yourself dream!

Let yourself fly!

Amaze yourself for the pure joy of feeling amazed!

Have FUN!

Be light and playful!

Live, love, laugh and be happy!

Seek joy!

Love and appreciate yourself!

Love and appreciate others!

Appreciate your wondrous, glorious life!

Appreciate your magnificent body!

Breathe in the Well-Being!

See each moment brilliantly glowing with the sheer joy of living!

Enjoy boundless levels of abundance and prosperity!

Relish paradise health!

Attract wise and wonderful friends to play with and grow with and have fun with!

Revel in the comfort of knowing that you can’t get it wrong!

Relax and know that truly All is Well!

To fully enjoy your magnificent life:

(1) Realize that you’re a Master of the Universe directing your thoughts and creating your Life.

(2) Acknowledge that you can choose to make every moment joyful.

(3) Be certain that you are absolutely and eternally wonderful and worthy of all good things.

(4) Summon up deep conviction in your ability to order and receive whatever you desire from the catalogue of the Universe.

The Question. And, finally, ask yourself this question: “How can I feel good, have fun, and enjoy the journey of my life today?”

Positive Quotes on Squidoo

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Well, I’ve finally done it. I’m officially a Lensmaster at Squidoo. My new lens is Positive Quotes.

I’ve been curious about starting a lens there for some time, but kept putting it off because I cringed at the thought of adding “one more thing” to my To-Do list! :-)

But a friend kept nudging me to do it (shoving is more like it, right Mark? haha), so I finally did.

Better still, I’ve chosen to have all of the proceeds from my lens donated to charity. Right now that is the Critter Connection - a no-kill adoption agency for doggies. :-) Later I might switch it out and share the love with other great organizations.

Sooooo, if you’re feeling the love, help spread the word about my lens. Link to it, blog about it, add it to your favorites, visit and rate it, etc. I’ll be working on it little by little, adding more quotes and some of my articles and so on. It’s one of my passions, so it’ll be my fun hobby when I need some downtime from writing. :-)

Create a Happy Day :-)

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Do you tend to let your outer circumstances set the tone for each day? Do you allow other people and events to trigger feelings of anger, frustration, impatience and more?

When you do this, you are not using the power you have available to you! By using the Law of Attraction, you can turn every day into a great day. One way to do that is by using intentions and visualization to create your day.

When you first wake up in the morning, spend 10 minutes or so thinking about the types of things you’d like to experience that day. How would you like your workday to go? What kind of people would you like to meet? Would you like to receive some great opportunities to advance your career or financial situation? How would you like to feel for the majority of your day?

Grab a blank journal or notebook and jot these details down! Once you’ve gotten all the details written down, spend a few minutes vividly imagining each scenario in your mind, exactly as you would like it to happen. Pretend you’re watching a movie in your mind, seeing it all play out exactly as you’d like it to.

Most importantly, allow yourself to feel as if they were actually happening now. Immerse yourself in feelings of excitement, joy, happiness and gratitude as you enjoy one great experience after another. Use this same process for every experience you’d like to have that day.

By the time you’re finished you should be feeling fantastic; buzzing with good spirits and high expectations!

Then continue with your normal routine, taking special care not to be “attached” to any specific events or experiences, just simply staying open to whatever comes. Keep affirming that great things are going to happen to you that day, and you feel great about all of the blessings and abundance in your life.

At the same time, avoid getting entangled in feelings of worry, anxiety, frustration, and anger as much as possible throughout the day because those feelings will interfere with the positive energy you’ve already put out.

As often as you can remember, call to mind images of the things you visualized earlier and allow good feelings to flow over you again. Affirm and know that wonderful things are happening, even if you don’t see them quite yet.

By using this process on a daily basis, you’ll eventually start to notice that good things are starting to happen. You’ll find yourself being in the “right place at the right time” and generally enjoying greater opportunities and abundance.

Whatever else you may do today, be sure to SMILE! :-)

Weed Your Mind

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Weeds in a garden can be incredibly pesky, persistent and destructive to the plants you do want to cultivate. Any good gardener knows that frequent weeding is necessary if you want to keep a clear area for healthy plants to grow to their fullest potential. How similar this process is to the role of positive thinking in personal development! Just like a garden, your mind can easily and quickly become overrun by “weeds” in the form of negativity, impatience, jealousy, anger or inflexibility.

You may think these types of thoughts aren’t truly harmful, just perhaps a bit annoying. Wrong! Remember, what you focus upon the most is what you tend to create in your life. While most of us have fleeting moments of negative thinking now and again, the length and frequency of time you focus on these thoughts determines whether they will sprout roots and grow into something larger and much more troublesome. What kind of trouble can negative thoughts create in your mind? How about feelings of depression, defeatism, inability to recognize opportunities, hopelessness, resistance to positive change, confusion, lack of focus, lack of direction and purpose, and much, much more. Even worse, negative thoughts (just like weeds) are incredibly prolific. They multiply and take over the whole darn joint if you let them. They invite all their rowdy, boisterous friends and begin to bully and crowd out the positive thoughts you are trying to encourage to take root.

If you want to keep your mind (and life) free from interfering “weeds,” you must learn to pluck out the ones that prevent the better growth from happening. That means letting go of grudges, not letting yourself be overcome by anger or frustration, and learning how to find the good in every situation. You must learn how to cultivate only that which you want to harvest in your life. You will reap what you sow, but remember too that sometimes other people are gardening on your land without your conscious awareness or permission. Don’t let them! Put up an electric fence and be clear about what you will and will not accept into your lush garden.

Be vigilant about weeding your mind daily, and you will ensure that only beauty, joy and abundance grow there.

You must weed your mind as you would weed your garden. - Astrid Alauda

Feelin’ good and rockin’ out!

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I came across this video on CuteOverload.com and I couldn’t stop laughing. Snowball is a cockatoo that likes to rock out to the Backstreet Boys.

Just watching him makes me feel happy and uplifted. (Gotta love those little legs “marching” and his punk-rock-like head feathers bobbing!) Go ahead, watch and dance along with him - you’re flowing positive energy when you do! :-)

You Can’t Please Everyone

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

No matter how much we all want to be liked and accepted, it’s impossible to please everyone all the time.

Have you ever tried? If you’ve got any people-pleasing tendencies, you know the immense pressure that results from them. You run around in circles, walk on eggshells, trying to be everything that everyone expects you to be. And the harder you try to meet everyone’s expectations, the less pleased they seem to be.

The truth is, some people will find fault with you no matter what you do. Even when you can please some of the people some of the time, other people will be complaining and nitpicking about the very same things that make those other people happy! ;-)

It’s an exercise in futility. Here’s a novel idea: focus on pleasing YOURSELF.

That doesn’t mean you have to ignore others’ needs. It doesn’t mean you have to become self-centered and selfish. It means you have to follow your heart and do what is right for YOU.

Accomodate people when you can, but don’t try to save anyone. Don’t try to coddle anyone. Don’t try to ingratiate yourself to others because it almost always backfires.

Instead, do the things that make your heart sing. Live each moment with passion and joy - and let go of the little stuff that threatens your inner peace.

When you do this, you’ll automatically attract the people who resonate most deeply with who you are - who you GENUINELY are. You’ll create mutual meaningful bonds; not superficial, conditional ones.

And for those other people, the ones who are always looking for your faults? They’ll find someone else to pick on when they realize you’re turning your focus in a more positive direction. ;-)

It’s the Journey that Counts

Friday, September 7th, 2007

When most of us set a goal or try to improve our lives in some way, we focus only on the end result we want to achieve. We see it shimmering in the distance like the Promised Land, our own personal utopia.

We fantasize about how much better our lives will be when we reach our goal, and we can’t WAIT to get there!

As great as the end result can be, we can’t forget to enjoy the journey along the way. The biggest benefit of any goal we achieve is not what we “get” because of it, but WHO WE BECOME through the achievement of it.

Think about that for a minute.

If you put all your expectations into some distant end result, you miss out on the best part. Instead, focus on who you are now and who you are becoming in every new moment. Let this awareness dictate your actions so you can move forward easily, not by force but with passion and joy.

Enjoy the journey and let each moment be its own reward. That’s TRUE success.

Forever is composed of nows. - Emily Dickinson
