Flowers for all you Moms out there. 
My mother and I bought a bunch of pansies, petunias and other pretties and planted them in nice boxes to give away to the Moms (and Grandmas).
I like that last pansy - he looks so happy.
I’ve got 11 people coming for dinner today, so it’s gearing up to be a busy day! Just wanted to post some love for the Mommas. Take it easy today - let everyone else cater to YOU.

I finally broke down today and installed SPAM Karma on this blog. I had to upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress anyway, so I figured why not try something new and pull my hair out for a few more hours?
But surprise, surprise - it was a SNAP to install! Bless your heart, Dave the SPAM Karma King! Come to think of it, upgrading Wordpress was a SNAP too. Maybe I’m finally getting to be more technical in my old age….hmmm?
Anyway, SPAM Karma is supposed to run quietly in the background and eat up automated blog SPAM (you can see the number of SPAMs eaten at the bottom of the page! ) — BUT please let me know if any of you experience problems posting comments. I only briefly skipped through the settings and they looked okay, but I might have to adjust them as I go along. So just drop an email (see my About page in the right column) if you have trouble.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some more heavy duty blog updating to do….*flexing fingers and cracking knuckles with a chip on her shoulder…* Why am I so jokey on a Tuesday? No ideas. LOL

How to tell when you’re neglecting your pets, spouse or children:
They hop into your Inbox to get some attention! 
I think my husband might have trouble fitting in there, luckily. HA!
Now what am I supposed to do with this? File it? Mail it? Pet it?
She should have stuck a sticky note to herself: Rush Job - Need some attention ASAP, thanx! I love the accusing stare, too. LOL!

When you work at home you deal with plenty of distractions but I sure didn’t expect to get THESE distractions today!
I was working in my office this morning, which is at the back of the house. Suddenly I heard a loud CRASH! out on the deck in back. Usually when I hear that it’s a neighborhood cat or racoon causing trouble - but today I looked out and saw three BEARS on our deck, ransacking our bird feeder!
It was a Mama and two goods-sized cubs. They stayed awhile (long enough to empty the bird feeder) so I was able to get some decent pictures.
Animal Control to the rescue! They chased the bears away.
So much for our bird feeder! They ripped it right off the pole.
We live in a suburban area that has plenty of woods surrounding it, so we’re no strangers to bears, deer and smaller critters. In fact the bears have been using our yard as a pass-through to other areas for some time. But until today they didn’t notice our bird feeder.
Guess the birds will be out of luck for awhile, I can’t put the feeder back up now that the bears know it’s there. They’ll just keep coming back. The birds will have to be satisfied with a few seeds scattered on the lawn for awhile!

The other day I stumbled across an artist that offers a unique service - personal portraits for your website or blog! He hand draws these and they’re gorgeous! Here’s mine:

He’s very affordable too - and I can think of many more uses for these portraits, like having one done of your kids, your pets, as a gift for your spouse, etc.

Have you heard about Oprah’s new reality show, “The Big Give“? Ten contestants compete and try to out-give each other and change people’s lives. What a refreshing change!
I get bored by the majority of “reality shows,” though I do have a couple I watch. This one, however, is one I will definitely tune in for. Sounds like it will be very inspiring.
Check it out, it premieres tonight at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central on ABC.

Excuse me, does this color make my hair look red?
Yep, I had a moment of insanity and dyed my hair red. And I do mean RED!
This was my initial reaction:
But now it’s starting to grow on me. Something different anyway - I get bored with the same color hair all the time.
I used a non-permanent color, so if I grow to really hate it it will be gone in 30 days or so.
